The Last Day
Today is the day i went over with subway for lunch that you had ordered on Grab and I went to pick it up. I also prepared my final letter to you. While we were eating, I was an emotional wreck, but you assured me that things might change. There was a chance for an alternate ending.
Today is the day he comes back from his business trip from Vietnam. You were planning to pick him up from the airport as a surprise.
We had our lunch, and you brought me into your room to talk. You showed me card that you wrote in January 2018. You wrote this card hoping to pass it to me, but eventually didn't and kept it. In it you wrote that you have found a "gem", and that "gem" is me.
Apparently while we were arguing and talking the previous night, Kitten had been plucking things out from your rack, and this card was one of them that Kitten plucked and dropped. It seemed like a sign from Kitten to remind you of our love.
You spent the rest of the time assuring me that you would try to reject him, and assuring me to not be too disheartened. You still went ahead to pick him up, and I rushed over to Changi Business Park to catch his plane landing, hoping to have a one last glance at how my future with you might change today.
After that, I headed home and cycled over to your empty room to see Kitten for the last time, patted his paws, and went home to watch "Don't Go Breaking My Heart", a HK movie you asked me to watch this afternoon, hoping that it might show our story and final ending.
When you picked him up from the airport for dinner and sent him home, he did show signs to advance things like hoping you'd go up to his place, but you played it cool and came over to find me after sending him home. That honestly helped make me feel less burdened when you told me about it.
You came over and brought me to your place, where we watched the remaining of "Don't go Breaking My Heart" that I couldn't finish before you picked me up, and watched the 2nd movie as well.
You tried showing me that this movie could well possibly be our ending, where we might eventually end up together even if you chose him.
To be honest, that night was magical. We felt like we didn't have a care in the world, you were happy he didn't end up popping the question to ask you to be with him, and we did it with such emotions. It was also possibly the first night in a long while where we slept in a little before I headed home at 515am in the morning. Tonight, was a glimpse of a second chance for us.
